Santa Cruz Boardwalk Sunset

The Amazing Sunset at Santa Cruz Boardwalk

One of my favorite things to do EVER is take night photography photos! I find it amazing how light can surprise you after it’s traveled through the lens of a long exposure photo. You never quite know what you will get until you look at the image 30 or so seconds later. It’s truly something that brings me so much joy!

This weekend I insisted that we go out and capture Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk after the sunlight hours and see what gorgeous scenes we could capture. Here are some of the amazing sights we saw!

Riding the Skyflyer provided us with perfect skyline views!

I love night photography because it is unpredictable and gives me a way – even if it’s feeble attempt – to capture the gorgeous creation of the true Creator! Sunset and twilight are the absolute best times to go out and be inspired. Even if it’s just to walk around outside and get somewhere open so you can see the sky, it is so wonderful! It helps draw me out of my little world and remember there is so much more!

I hope these photos might help inspire you too and keep you on the daily hunt for life’s hidden joys…

I began this blog about 2 months ago, but sadly didn’t ever come back to it until now. I was inspired one day to share that which inspires me and keeps me going as an artist in both graphic design and photography. I feel dead without inspiration – that is how important it is to me! So I decided to create a blog to capture what every day little things keep me going and inspired. For my first post I wanted to share what motivated me to go into graphic design and photography from the very beginning. I felt God leading me to it and then he gave me this quote and photo that became his promise to me:

The Place that God calls you to is the place
where your deep joy and the world’s deep hunger meet.

- Henri Nouwen.

WOW! What better inspiration is there than that? Our God has perfectly prepared a place for each of us. A place for which us to be fulfilled and filled with joy and a place for us to reach out to some particular need in the world. That got me going and keeps me going day by day.

So if you feel inclined to follow my Scattering Joy Blog – I will do my best to help Scatter the Joy of the every day little things on a regular weekly basis. Here’s my first item to scatter:
